Just so that everyone is on the same page. I am now calling my trip to London and Educational Sabbatical. The terms vacation, excursion, waste of time, etc... will not be accepted by my brain....
(DoEs. NoT. cOmPuTe.)
Shut up Brain! .... Whoops! Sorry about that. Anyway- on to my travels.
Plane ride- was AWESOME. I had a personal tv with a great many movie selections. I watched "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "Brave." For anyone who hasn't seen "Snow White and the Huntsman,"... DON'T. It is really Horrible. I mean- this coming from someone who kinda likes Kristin Stewart
*dodges tomatoes* (Whoever threw that- I SAW YOU!)
"Brave" was amazing - obviously.
Upon my arrival, I received an e-mail informing me that there was a last minute cancellation for a workshop I had been on a waiting list for and that I was IN! The next day, Jet lagged as I was... I went. The class was about CVs and was from 10:30 to 5:00. Two scottish ladies were teaching the class and at one point used the phrase "This one is the marmite of the group." (speaking about a CV- not ME! I promise!) SO... I logged that phrase away to look up later.
There isn't internet in the flat so I spend a good amount of time at the Pub that is just up the street. The coffee is AMAZING. (be surprised.) And the other day I had a "Traditional English Breakfast"- Sausage, hasbrowns, egg(s), a tomato, baked beans, and some weird bacon-like stuff. Obviously I did not eat all of that, but darnit if I didn't try! I have spent a decent amount of time e-mailing and mailing agents, looking up stuff online, filling out forms, signing up for workshops... the usual.
Let's see... a lot of cool stuff happened this week. There was a street fair in Leytonstone (where I am living). They called it a "car free day." And there were people dressed up as colorful horses, a man with a big wheel/small wheel bike, women in Victorian dresses... it was an interesting fair. Oh! And also- delicious cheese.
The Westfield Mall is ENORMOUS but they seriously need a JCrew. (everywhere needs a JCrew). I am pretty sure the Olympics were at Stratford. I COULD look it up, but based on the bridge to the mall, I think I don't need to. (Feel free to correct me in the comments.)
